Lagayan, Abra – A 63-year old man in this municipality was killed by his Carabao on Thursday, November 26, 2020.

The victim was identified as Pepito Baldemor, a resident of Barangay Bai, Lagayan.

In an investigation of the police, it said the victim went out to take their carabao to graze, but then he was suddenly attacked by the animal which resulted to various injuries to several parts of his body.

His injuries were fatal which led to his demise.

According to Lagayan Chief of Police, Lt. Gilbert Buli-e, the victim’s family refused the conduct of an autopsy as they are convinced that the cause of Baldemor’s death is the carabao’s attack and no foul play was made.

The family is now planning to sell the carabao which they are tending for almost six years now.

Carabaos in the Philippines are widely used by farmers to till their farms. These animals are also a big help for them in all their farm activities such as transporting their farm products in reaching the market site.

Stories like this are rare but carabaos can at times be aggressive and launch a fatal attack even to their owners.
