Tanudan, Kalinga – To encourage their constituents to get protected with Covid-19 jab, the health personnel in Tanudan are now the ones going to different sitios and barangays in the municipality to vaccinate people as well as to correct misinformation circulating about the Covid-19 vaccine.

Even in Kalinga, various types of anti-Covid-19 vaccine information or propaganda are floating not only on social media but also by word of mouth.

According to the Rural Health of Tanudan, a total of 2,077 doses had already been administered as of October 9, 2021. Of this number, 869 received their first dose and 603 for the second.

Additionally, 605 individuals received the single dose Janssen vaccine.

RHU Tanudan mentioned that among the issues they encountered during the vaccination rollout include the hesitation of individuals to get inoculated because some are anti-vaccine and some choose a vaccine brand. Moreover, some have health issues preventing them from receiving the vaccine.

To encourage and counter the public's hesitancy, the RHU thought of the sitio and barangay strategy vaccination where personnel go to far-flung areas just to administer the vaccine. This, they said, will bring the vaccine closer to the people and will help them get first-hand information regarding vaccines and vaccination efforts.

For the Resbakuna schedule this week, this Monday will be at the RHU and in Dacalan; Tuesday will be in Dacalan and Darulog/Alubaggan; and on Wednesday, it will be in Gaang and RHU.

There will be no vaccination on Thursday and Friday.
