Tinglayan barangay officials train for fund management


Tinglayan, Kalinga – Punong barangays from the 20 villages of Tinglayan along with their treasurers, bookkeepers and barangay development council – technical working group (BDC-TWGs) underwent training on fund management from March 16 to 17, 2022 at the Municipal Tribal Gymnasium.

In a press release, the Municipal Information Office disclosed that the community finance training was spearheaded by the personnel of Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services – National Community Driven Development Program or KALAHI CIDSS-NCDDP.

The KALAHI CIDSS-NCDDP is a poverty alleviation program of the national government implemented through the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), through community-driven development programs.


To ensure that the fund directed to the community are utilized as intended, the barangay officials were given preparatory training on processing cash receipts, cash disbursement, and establishment of petty cash fund.

A workshop was likewise conducted for the participants to be knowledgeable on finance-related documents such as vouchers and fund management.


The finance training, according to ACT-AC Unica Dionisio, helps the community to manage the funds and the implementation of their respective projects.

Also present during the training were representatives of each project implementation team, monitoring, and operations, and maintenance team.


More training will be administered in the municipality before the issuance of the 1st tranche of KALAHI grants.
