SP Tabuk holds special session for Resettlement Assistance Program of displaced citizens

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Although under recess for three weeks, the City Council of Tabuk will meet Friday, September 24 for a Special Session for the discussion of the City Government’s plan to avail of a Resettlement Assistance Program (RAP) of the National Housing Authority for displaced citizens affected by the implementation of the Road Right of Way program.


“Maangay intunu bigat, September 24, 2021 ti special session dagiti kameng ti Sangguniang Panlungsod nga idadaulwan ni Tabuk City Vice Mayor Bernard Glenn Dao-as sadiay Golden Berries Hotel, Barangay San Juan, Tabuk City,” advisory from the office of the City Vice-Mayor reads.


In a letter by the City Mayor, he requested for the special session for the city council to enact resolutions which is required by NHA prior to the availment of the program.


Some of the resolutions needed to be crafted include a resolution authorizing the city mayor to enter into a memorandum of agreement with the NHA, resolution declaring the site chosen as resettlement area, resolution to undertake the implementation of the project by the administration, and a resolution to commit LGU counterpart in the land development of the project.

Also, other resolutions needed is a resolution for an intent to avail P25, 000 for Resettlement Assistance Program of the NHA (50M for Half-loan and Half-grant, resolution authorizing the mayor to secure loan from NHA, resolution creating the LGU-Housing Board/LIAC, resolution designating the project implementation team and resolution to provide for Socio-Economic facilities/services/livelihood projects or activities to be undertaken to benefit the resettled families.


Aside from these, a resolution for the existence of access roads going to the site indicating the width of the access road, resolution authorizing the mayor to sign the Deed of Donation and Acceptance (DODA), resolution authorizing the LGU to return fund contribution in case of failure to complete project or awarding of units and resolution adopting the MOA between NHA and LGU are also required.


In a statement, City Vice Mayor Dao-as committed that SP Tabuk shall continue to support and work in order to provide services needed by Tabukeños amid the pandemic.
