Tricycle driver shot Friday night in Tabuk City


Tabuk City, Kalinga – A tricycle driver in the city was shot Friday night, March 4, 2022 at the Molintas Street in Barangay Bulanao Centro.


Initial investigation of the Tabuk City Police Station revealed that the 38-year-old victim from Barangay Bagumbayan was drinking with his friends at a restaurant, while the suspects described to have a medium-built body and wearing a black jacket and short pants were at another table.

After they consumed their drinks, the owner advised them to go home since it was about closing time.


When the victim was about to ride his tricycle, one of the suspects allegedly said, “haan yu pigpigsaan sau yu ta ag-close dan.”

From that, the said suspect pulled his short firearm from his waist and allegedly shot the victim several times before they ran away from the crime scene.


When the police were notified about the incident and responded to the crime scene around 9:55 PM, the victim was already rushed by his friend to the hospital.

Meanwhile, responding investigators together with the personnel of the Kalinga Provincial Crime Laboratory recovered 5 Cal. 45 fcc; a piece of magazine with live ammunition; a piece of black inside holster; 1 deformed slug; and a Cal. 45 fired bullet.


Investigation of the case and manhunt operation against the suspects are still in progress.


The victim, on the other hand, underwent surgery.
