Vaccination for 5-11 age group kicks off in Baguio city

Baguio City, Philippines – Following the regional launching of the Department of Health-Cordillera, the City of Baguio started inoculating Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine to children ages 5 to 11 years old on Monday, February 14, 2022.


During said regional launching, the DOH-CAR as reported on their social media post, assured that the vaccine is safe, effective and it is not the same with the adults’ vaccine formulation.

The department earlier explained the need to inoculate the children under the age bracket to have them protected against the effect of the dreaded virus.


Baguio City Health Services Office, through their Facebook page, reported that their team started the vaccination at SM Baguio Parking area at 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. yesterday exclusive for Atab District.


Another team from the same office conducted inoculation for the said age group at the Bishop Carlito Cenzon Sports Center (SLU gym) from 1 p.m. for Aurora Hill District.

Data shared by the Public Information Office- Baguio, shows that a total of 272 children from the age group were able to receive their COVID-19 dose on February 14.

According to DOH-CAR, other provinces in the region are expected to launch vaccination for 5-11 age group within this week.
