What to expect during Tanudan’s 8th Kape Festival in Kalinga on June 23-24

Tanudan, Kalinga – This year’s Kape Festival and Tanudan’s 59th Founding Anniversary shall be celebrated after a three-year festival hiatus, as Covid-19 is currently under control with most of the pandemic restrictions being lifted, allowing gatherings under alert level 1.


The festival happens on June 23-25, 2022 in Se-et, Mabaca.


Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag said Tanudan can finally observe its founding anniversary through the display of its cultural heritage as well as agricultural and industrial products.


Dagadag invites the public to come and witness the celebration, saying that they have prepared various activities and events for residents and visitors to enjoy.



Day One


Municipal Accountant Chumz Dalanao said there will be an Agro-trade fair exhibiting Tanudan’s coffee and other products.


Farmers will compete in coffee processing and cooking.


Dalanao added that the activity will be simultaneously done with the cultural presentation of the different barangays in Tanudan.


There will also be a pig-catching activity in the afternoon.


Day Two


Among the highlights of the second-day celebration are the band competition, Tiktok remix dance challenge, cultural dance competition, and the literary music contest.


The most anticipated Search for the 2022 Miss Laggunawa will be held at 7:00 in the evening at Mabaca Open gymnasium.


There will be a Laga Show during the coronation night of the Miss Laggunawa.


Day Three


On the last day, there will be a parade in the morning followed by a formal program. The awarding ceremony of the different contested activities will be done in the afternoon.
