Tabuk City, Kalinga – A student journalist from Tabuk City was recently cited Most Outstanding Campus Journalist of the Philippines in Cagayan De Oro City.

Nimfa Dalanao Dumalleg, an Accountancy, Business, and Management(ABM) student at Tabuk City National High School participated in this year’s National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) where she bagged one of the most coveted titles in the competition on July 19.

NSPC is the country’s largest convergence of student journalists under the Department of Education.

Dumalleg got the award in recognition of her exemplary performance in delivering news, content, and information on campus. It was mentioned that her ‘dedication and commitment to work significantly contributed to the successful implementation of R.A. 7079 known as Campus Journalism Act of 1991’.

In a Facebook post, Dumalleg revealed she’s not always confident in herself even when she always tells people to believe in themselves.

“I constantly advise everyone around me to have confidence in themselves, but the truth is I don't always feel that way. As a result, in any endeavor, I get anxious and try to do my best,” she wrote.

After acknowledging the people who supported her and who ‘made this success possible’, Dumalleg further wrote that her last year in high school is ‘worthwhile’.

“The fact that we were able to extend our journey for my one last victorious hurrah is more important than whether or not I am entirely prepared to say goodbye to campus journalism,” she expressed.
