Tabuk City, Kalinga – A total of 29 police and army personnel graduated this August 17, 2021, after their training in criminal investigation, which is considered of high importance in the campaign against criminality.

They shall be joining the list of criminal investigators in the province in a bid to speed up solving criminal cases and contribute to the attainment of justice for victims.

Police Executive Master Sergeant Jackson Apil disclosed that the initial number of the personnel who were to attend the Criminal Investigation Course (CIC) Class 819-2021 was 30 but one deferred due to pregnancy.

The graduating class was composed of personnel from the 1st and 2nd Police Mobile Force Company, different municipal police stations in the province, non-uniformed personnel (NUP-crime registrar), and Philippine Army (PA).

Their training started on May 22, 2021, and was supposed to take the 35-day CIC training but was extended due to their immersion. This was necessary to be done to show the actual application of the theories and concepts learned.

“The class was planned to be conducted face-to-face pero nung nagkaroon ng prohibitions dahil sa pandemic, ang ginawa is sometimes virtual. We call instructors to come to our office idiay barracks,” Apil said.

This first batch of CIC and the upcoming second batch were funded by Kalinga Local Government Unit as requested by the Provincial Police Office.

Apil further disclosed the reason for including 2 personnel of the Philippine Army in the course. This, he said, is for the protection of physical evidence at the crime scene.

“Tapnu in cases where investigation will be needed, adda personnel da a maka-ammu how to protect the physical evidence nga apan alaen ti police from the crime scene. Tapnu haan a magulo ngay, haan a ma-contaminate,” the chief clerk explained.

After graduation, the personnel will go back to their mother units and are expected to be assigned to the investigation section of their respective stations.

KPPO encouraged other police personnel who do not have schooling yet on the CIC to participate or join the second batch this August.
