4 men rescued after 5-feet dolphin crashed boat in Cagayan

Cagayan, Philippines – Four individuals were rescued along the vicinity waters of Camiguin Island after their boat almost sunk on Monday, March 20, 2023.

The four men were heading to Babuyan Island from Sta. Ana with their goods when a 5-feet dolphin accidentally bumped their boat around 10:15 a.m., the Cagayan Provincial Information Office reported.

This resulted in the watercraft getting punctured, causing water to get into it.

One of the four men was able to contact their colleagues at the shore in Sta. Ana. The latter then sought the help of the Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Sta. Ana who immediately came to rescue the four.

At the time, the boat was already half-submerged after almost two hours in the middle of the sea.

All four were able to get home to their families safely.
