66-yr.-old farmer killed after truck crashes into ‘kuliglig’ in Isabela

Alicia, Isabela - A 66-year-old farmer in Alicia, Isabela died after his service vehicle, a 'kuliglig' was hit by a truck morning of Thursday, Nov. 02, 2023.

The victim was identified as Ernesto Pattung and a resident of said town.

Police report revealed Pattung was traversing the road particularly in Barangay Poblacion using his kuliglig when an Isuzu Forward Truck driven by Jeffrey Madrid, 31, a resident of San Mateo, Isabela hit his service vehicle.

It was further narrated that the suspect overtook a following Dump Truck resulting in the sudden incident. The victim sustained multiple injuries due to the collision.

He was rushed to a hospital in the city by the responding authorities, but he was unable to survive.

Meanwhile, Madrid and the vehicles involved in the incident are now in police custody for proper documentation.

Filing of corresponding cases against the suspect is currently on process.
