Additional 17 families affected by COVID-19 fatalities get financial aid from Kalinga LGU

Tabuk City, Kalinga - 17 more families of those who died of COVID-19 received P5,000 assistance each from the local government of Kalinga under the leadership of Governor Ferdinand Tubban.

Aiming to help ease some financial burden of the affected families, the Office of the Governor and Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) partnered and made the assistance possible.

As recalled, the first batch with 24 recipients received their aid in April, while the second batch composed of 23 families was assisted in July.

The assistance for the third batch was personally handed over by the governor to the recipients on October 25, 2021.

The families who were provided with the cash assistance were those who complied and submitted the requirements, such as a death certificate as proof that an immediate member of a family died due to the virus.

Tubban condoled with the affected families and assured that the provincial government will prioritize its vaccination efforts to prevent more COVID-19 death in the province. He likewise asked the cooperation of the community to do their part, especially in strictly adhering to the minimum public health standard to have themselves protected.

“Agtitinulong tayo ngarud tapnu mas nalaglag-an ti panangibaklay tayo kadagiti problema. Let us also pray to God to intervene and provide guidance so we can overcome these problems,” posted the governor through his Facebook page.

The PSWDO encouraged the immediate family of COVID-19 casualties to proceed to their office to avail of the assistance. The office will be conducting brief interviews and death certificate verification before releasing financial aid.
