Gravedigger films college students making love in Tuguegarao cemetery then blackmails them for money

Tuguegarao City, Cagayan - An intimate act between two college students in Tuguegarao City was secretly videotaped by a man, resulting in extortion.  

The college students, hidden under the names “Ernie,” 24, and “Sara,” 29, were caught by a gravedigger, or “sepulturero,” making love inside the Tuguegarao Public Cemetery in Pengue Ruyu.  

Local media sources did not mention the exact date of the incident, but they stated it just happened recently.  

According to the XFM-Santiago, Ernie and Sara narrated to the authorities that after their sex, a man unexpectedly showed up and told them he had recorded them during their intimate moment. 

Still inside the cemetery, the man, hidden under the name “Jhun”, 27, showed them the video to prove what he was saying is legit. 

The couple then offered Jhun a P1,000 in exchange for deleting the video, which he accepted. However, Jhun did not delete the file after he received the money, but instead, he asked for an additional P500.  

The two did not agree to the suspect’s condition and decided to report the matter to the barangay officials, who immediately notified the police.  

The responding police officers successfully arrested Jhun and confiscated from him a gold-colored Android phone, where the explicit video was still stored, and the P1,000 cash paid to him by the victims.  

Later identified as a gravedigger at the cemetery, the suspect is now facing charges of extortion and violation of Republic Act 9995, or the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009, which prohibits recording private acts without consent.
