Tabuk City, Kalinga – A man, listed as high value individual (HVI) drug personality, appeared and personally surrendered at the Kalinga Police Provincial Office on March 24.

Kalinga Police Provincial Director PCol. Davy Vicente Limmong said that the HVI was a drug surrenderer in 2016, and that he underwent the community rehabilitation program.

However, his name was tagged again and he was supposed to be a subject for search warrant. “But it did not materialize since he did not go home for a period [of time] and stayed somewhere,” he said.

The man, upon learning that he was in the list, immediately went to the office of the police provincial director. Though Limmong said that the man did not admit anything, he explained that the list of drug personalities is consolidated in the national and that his name might have been mentioned by other drug personalities in other places.

He added that they will report his surrender to the national government. He explained that the act of surrender does not mean that a person will not be arrested if he get caught in an operation.

Meanwhile, Limmong said that drug personalities who wish to surrender may come to their office, and hopes that they will help and work together with the police by providing information that can lead to the reduction of drug users and pushers.
