Kalinga LGU invites residents to join webinar on Cyberbullying to protect children

Tabuk City, Kalinga - To protect yKalinga children, students, and young adults who are the most common target of online bullying or cyberbullying, the Provincial Local Government Unit (PLGU), will be conducting a free webinar via Google Meet from 9:00 a.m-11:00 a.m on July 28, 2021.


Under the leadership of Governor Ferdinand B. Tubban, the PLGU partnered with Department of Information and Communications Technology-Kalinga (DICT-Kalinga) as a proactive approach to help stakeholders avoid the dangers associated with the internet and technology misuse.


Executive Assistant Elizabeth Balais II explained that Kalinga LGU “had been in constant communication and coordination with DICT about any and all possible programs that can be implemented to benefit our fellowmen.”


“Kayat tayu nga aramiden met nu anya ti mabalin nga actions para ti pagimbagan ti netizens tayo dituy Kalinga,” Balais said.

The upcoming free webinar on Digital Parenting is among the programs to empower stakeholders and raise awareness about the threats caused by cyberbullying.

Balais added that parents and teachers are invited to join the webinar, especially that they are “vital players in the latter’s development.”


According to the Facebook post of Provincial Information Office, the participants are only required to have a strong internet reception, a laptop, or a cellphone, and a valid email address.

Upon submission of the registration form, a meeting link will then be sent to the email address entered in the form.


Governor Tubban shall be signing the certificates to be given to all training completers.

Tubban, in an interview, said that webinars like this are important to raise awareness amongst the residents and arm them with information on how they can help protect their children, younger sibling, and even themselves from cyber bullying.

Governor Tubban is hopeful that the participants in the webinar will gain understanding, knowledge, and awareness to fight against cyber bullying for them to be able to save children and other people from the hands of misinformation.
