Roxas, Isabela – A man in Isabela ended up dead after the brother of his nephew, whom he had earlier killed, exacted revenge.

Based on the information obtained by the XFM-Santiago from the authorities, the man killed his nephew in Roxas on June 2; the revenge happened in San Mateo on June 5.

The police reported that Quirino Padua, a 48-year-old construction worker from Paracelis, Mt. Province, was found dead in Barangay Simimbaan, Roxas, on June 2. The victim’s face was badly injured, indicating he was attacked with a hard object.

Investigation found that Quirino’s 63-year-old uncle, hidden under the name “Tonio,” was his killer. The two were both caretakers of a building in said barangay.

Before the tragedy happened, Quirino and Tonio had been drinking together until they got into a heated argument. When Quirino fell asleep in a small hut, Tonio allegedly hit him right in the face with a hammer.

The 48-year-old man later died due to severe head injuries from the attack.

Charges were filed by the victim’s family against Tonio; however, he was temporarily released from police custody. Police did not mention why he got out of prison.

Revenge: Quirino’s brother stabs Tonio to death

After his release, Tonio then went to San Mateo to stay with his relatives.

On June 5, the 44-year-old brother of the murdered man, “alias Ron,” arrived in San Mateo to confront Tonio. There, an argument broke out between the two until Ron pulled out a kitchen knife and stabbed Tonio in the leg. Even though Tonio tried to run away, Ron chased him and stabbed him several times in various parts of his body.

Tonio died due to severe stab wounds.

Now, Ron is facing charges for the death of his uncle.
