According to Nurse Ceasar Manalwap, 4 of the 12 cases are 6 months old, 7 months old, 2 and 4 years old. The other 8 include a 16-year-old, a senior citizen, and adults.

With the rise of Covid-19 cases, the Dinakan Municipal Isolation Unit, Balngabang Temporary Treatment & Monitoring Facility, and the NPC Municipal Isolation Unit were reactivated by the Rural Health Unit on August 9.

Apart from serving as isolation units for Covid-19 infected individuals, the facilities are part of the contingency plan should monkey pox enter the municipality.

Meantime, Manalwap appeals to those who are not vaccinated yet to get their Covid-19 shot. He also reminds the public to continue observing the minimum health protocol.

“Getting vaccinated and boosted is the best way to reduce your risk of symptoms, especially becoming severely ill, if you get COVID-19,” he conveyed.
