Pasil, Kalinga – The local government of Pasil under the leadership of Mayor Alfredo Malannag Jr. recently gave cash incentives to 9 students from this town who won during the Sining Bayanihan: A Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo (KKDAT) Arts and Culture Project.

Said provincial art competition was held last July at the Kalinga Police Provincial Office as part of the Police-Community Relations Month, aiming to “enhance and promote the skills and talents of the youth as well as to inspire other youth members and to keep them away from the threats of illegal drugs and terrorism.”

The provincial police gave P3,000 and P500 worth of gift certificates each to Azzaleiya Zuen Ambona for garnering 1st place in Sining Bayanihan Spoken Poetry, Danlee Dalsen for placing first in Karagatanghalan Documentary, and Wilbourne Manggad who also won in Karagatanghalan Virtual Arts (painting).

Ambona received another P2,000 for being 2nd in Karagatanghalan Spoken Poetry while Manggad got P1,000 more for placing 3rd in Sining Bayanihan Virtual Arts (painting).

Meanwhile, Jericho Ramos, Stephanie Paligan, Earon Saldo, and Rose Ann Arches received P1,000 as a group for placing 3rd in Karagatanghalan Interpretative Dance.

Same amount was given to Dalsen, Jeanette Macabio , Ivan Prince Kitongan for being 3rd in Sining Bayanihan Interpretative Dance.

Pasil LGU awarded more cash incentive

As the municipality celebrated the 121st Philippine Civil Service Anniversary this September 30, 2021, the students received more incentives as provided in the Municipal Ordinance No. 2020-14 known as “The Gawad Galing Batang Pasilian Ordinance” authored by Councilor Ronnie B. Bawalan.

The municipal ordinance was crafted ‘to recognize and boost the morale of elementary and secondary students who brought honor and prestige to the municipality in terms of sports and academic excellence.’

Under the ordinance, P2,000.00 each shall be given to each student who participated in the individual or group event at a provincial level.

Bawalan handed the check containing said amount to the students as he encouraged the youth to strive and excel in their academic, art, or sports activities for a chance to get to join higher events.
