Tanudan Police says no injuries reported due to earthquake

Tanudan, Kalinga – After the huge earthquake shook Northen Luzon, with Abra logging 7.3 magnitude being the epicentre, Tanudan Chief of Police said they received no report of casualties or injuries related to the jolt.


Police Captain Manuel Sabado told Guru Press Cordillera in an interview that as of July 28, they didn’t log any report of individuals in Tanudan harmed during the quake.


Nevertheless, some houses and infrastructures in the municipality were damaged.

Among the reported buildings damaged by the earthquake include the grade one classroom in Mangali Centro Elementary School - the side wall cracked and its ceiling collapsed.


Some of the school’s equipment in Gaang Elementary School was broken, with others already not functioning after falling to the ground during the earthquake.


All roads in Tanudan are passable as of press time.


While there are no reports of earthquake-related injuries in the municipality, Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag advised the public to remain alert as aftershocks may still happen.


He likewise reminded the people to remain calm and to stay in safe areas in case of a sudden quake.
