Tanudan youth given seminar on crime, terrorism and illegal drug use prevention

Tanudan, Kalinga – As part of their renewed fight against drugs and terrorism, the youth in this municipality have recently undergone a one-day seminar concerning the prevention of criminality, terrorism, and illegal drugs.


Participants were members of the Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo (KKDAT) who attended the seminar in two batches to comply with the health protocols. Held at Davidson Hotel, the first batch composed of Chapters 1-5 had their seminar last June 5 and the second batch, Chapter 6 to 10, on October 30.


The Tanudan Municipal Police Station, led by Acting Chief of Police, Police Lieutenant Manuel Sabado, reports that the activity focused on lectures aiming to empower the youth, such as sex and gender awareness; crime prevention, and Trafficking in Person; leadership; and drug abuse and penalties.

KKDAT President, Hearthy Ao-at, expressed appreciation for the conduct of said seminars since it has raised awareness among the youth in the locality, especially about how terrorism and illegal drugs could affect their sector.

Moreover, Ao-at said they are thankful that Tanudan is among the places that have succeeded in the KKDAT program which he said aims to enlighten the mind of the youth who are usually more prone to getting deceived by the drug users and the left-leaning groups.


“Imbes a dagiay drug addict ken dagiay terrorista iti mang-invite kadagitoy kakadwa tayo a kabataan ket dagiay lattan kapulisan iti mang awis tapno iti kasta ket malaw-lawagan pay dagiay kabataan iti usto a kapanunutan. Thankful kami met ta maysa iti Tanudan a nag-succeed iti daytoy a programa,” he said.


The KKDAT seminar has the theme; “Gakkan da yTanudan, an Os-ossaan para ti bumaruwan ni ili.” As to date, there are a total of 508 young ones in Tanudan who are members of KKDAT.
