Tanudan, Kalinga – The dream of yTanudans years ago to have paved roads and bridges in their locality is now being realized, says Congressman Allen Jesse Mangaoang.

In his message during the recent inauguration of the Tanudan Dumanay bridge, he recalled an old pun that the people in Tanudan used to say which goes ‘people have already reached the moon, but roads have yet to reach Tanudan.’

“I-tatta nga aldaw, maragsakan nak ta nakasangpet nak ditoy a saan a napitakan, saan a napitakan iti sakak, saan a nabasa iti badok iti ling-et – amin dagitoy a rang-ay gapu ta nagbalikas iti ipukpukkaw tayo a kalsada babaen iti nasayaat a panangiturong dagiti papangat tayo,” he said.

He added that the people once thought they would never get the chance to even smell vehicle gas in their houses, as cars could not reach their areas since there were no roads or bridges in their locality. But with the recent developments in the province and the construction and completion of the Tanudan bridge in Dumanay, it sparked hope that their dreams are coming true.

“Iyebkas tayo ngarud iti naimpuswan nga panagyaman kadagiti amin a tinmultulong para iti panakaileppas na daytoy a proyekto kangnuraan iti pamilya iti taga Department of Public Works and Highway,” he said.

Cooperation of the community

Mangaoang also explained that while the bridge was funded in 2018, there was a delay with the start of the project since the contractor had to wait for the completion of the road going to the bridge project site that was simultaneously funded.

Now that it is finished and inaugurated, the congressman conveyed that the completion of the project is also attributed to the cooperation of the constituents and the help of Tanudan Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag.

“Nu awan iti tulong yu a tattao ditoy Tanudan, saan a malpas daytoy. Nu awan iti tulong ni apo mayor, saan latta a malpas daytoy,” he said.

‘Haan a taktaken iti panag-implementar iti proyekto’

The congressman revealed that funds will be allotted for Lubo in 2022.

“Saan yu kuma a taktataktaken tapnu malpas ingganan nu December 2022. Nalaka dan tu nga mangited nu adda iti dawaten tayo manen a pondo para iti 2022. Ngem nu nagrigat iti panag-construct da gapu iti road right of way problem sigurado a parigaten datayo met nga ikkan iti pondo iti sumaruno a taw-tawen,” he said.

Mangaoang then asked for the public’s help and cooperation to ensure the projects and developments will be implemented faster and smoothly.

“Ti tagtagitnep yu a makasangpet iti kalsada iti Tanudan ket agbalbalikas metten. Saan lang a kalsada nu di ket pati rangtay, kadagiti maikkan iti rangtay iti ikkan da iti pondo na,” he said.
