Aparri, Cagayan – Travel time and transport of products will soon be reduced and be more accessible for the Cagayanos and visitors as the Camalaniugan–Aparri Bridge project entered its final phase.

The P2.4-billion infrastructure extending for 2 km is known as the longest cable span in Region 2.

Said bridge will serve as an alternate route to the Magapit Bridge in Lal-lo, shortening travel from Aparri to Ballesteros by about 20 minutes and easing the transport of goods across the province.

On May 30, Governor Manuel Mamba led a site inspection at the ongoing construction of the said bridge, which is anticipated to be operational by August 2025.

To recall, said bridge was inaugurated through the efforts of the Department of Public Works and Highways and the Cagayan provincial government on June 25, 2021. It is part of the Cagayan Five Bridges Program outlined in Gov. Mamba’s Cagayan Development Agenda 2025.
