Baguio City, Philippines – Competing in her fourth Palarong Pambansa, 15-year-old Cordilleran taekwondo jin Chezka Nicolette Luzadas added two more medals to her growing collection after winning a silver and a bronze medal for the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) during the 66th Palarong Pambansa on May 28, 2026.

The 66th Palarong Pambansa, regarded as the country’s premier grassroots sporting event for student-athletes, gathered 13,247 delegates, including 10,718 athletes from 18 regional athletic associations competing for national honors.

The Cordillera Administrative Region sent 835 delegates to this year’s national meet, carrying the hopes of the region across various sporting disciplines.

Among them, Luzadas emerged as one of the standout performers, capturing a silver medal in the Secondary Girls’ Team Poomsae event and a bronze medal in the Secondary Mixed Pair Poomsae competition.

In an interview with GMA Regional News, Luzadas said competing in her fourth Palaro has helped her become more accustomed to the pressure of performing on the national stage.

She added that she is already looking forward to next year’s edition of the games and is determined to bring home more medals for the region.

“Ito po ang pinaka-malakas na Palaro ko because we trained hard for it, two months training and prine-pressure po kami ni coach to be the best. Mas sanay na po sa pressure and always have po…I’m looking forward po to making more golds next year po,” Luzadas said.

Meanwhile, the Fearless Highlanders taekwondo team continued its strong medal campaign, with Joshua Aaron E. Erece capturing the gold medal in the Secondary Boys Category 3 division.

Aithan Raphael E. Ogoy, Alexandria Daphne F. Aganon, Ian Rei G. Lonogan, and Rolyn Matthew M. Salay also delivered silver medals in their respective divisions.

Geoffrey Jin J. Bermudez, Kyla Nicole A. Takinan, Rina Venice B. Maltizo, Stephanie C. Agdata, and Thalia Ken A. Takinan further boosted CAR’s medal haul by securing bronze medals in their respective kyorugi events.
