Baguio City, Philippines - The Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division Office of Baguio City on Monday, October 13, 2025 debunked circulating AI-generated news posted by a Facebook page falsely announcing no face-to-face classes from October to December 2025.

Warning the public, especially the students, the DepEd posted a screenshot of a male anchor announcing the three-month long face-to-face class suspension.

“These videos are AI-generated and are not official announcements from the Department of Education or this Division. Some of them use edited visuals, fake news layouts, and even the DepEd logo to look real — but they are being used to promote online shopping sites and affiliate links for profit,” the DepEd wrote.

The department clarified that it has not issued any directive to suspend face-to-face classes and reminded the public to verify all announcements through its official platforms.

To recall, the same incident happened in July wherein an AI-generated video of a female newscaster announcing the suspension classes circulated in social media platforms, with a background image saying ‘SONA Walang Pasok Advisory’, prompting the DepEd to post an immediate counter of the false claims.
