Claveria, Cagayan – A fisherman who found a floating cocaine in sea waters in Claveria was arrested for selling the suspected contraband in a buy-bust operation on September 9 in Taggat Sur, Claveria.

Police Regional Office 2 revealed that the anti-narcotic operatives had put the suspect hidden under the name ‘Bong’ who is identified as a High Value Individual drug personality under surveillance for more than two months. This is after they believed the man found a floating contraband in the sea waters, but he did not surrender them to the police.

On September 9, at around 11:30 a.m., the operatives launched a buy-bust operation against the suspect after observing his actions and movements for two months.

Using a P249,000 boodle money, the undercover operatives were able to buy more than a kilogram of suspected cocaine from the 43-year-old suspect. The contraband he allegedly sold has an estimated worth of P5.3 million.

The man along with the pieces of evidence was brought to the Claveria Municipal Police Station for proper documentation and disposition.

PRO2 Regional Director, PBGen.
