Intervention monitoring cards introduced to yApayaos for easier access to gov’t aid

Flora, Apayao – While the rollout of the intervention monitoring cards commenced in 2021, it was only this year that it was introduced to yApayaos.

 

The visit of Engr. Christopher Morales, CESO II, the Undersecretary for Rice Industry Development to the province on Tuesday, April 23, paved the way for the launching of said card, which is instrumental in easier access to the government’s financial aid.

 

The card is a multipurpose card that contains the beneficiaries’ name, photo, QR code, RSBSA (Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture) number, and e-wallet card. With said feature, the card functions as an identification card and, at the same time, a cash card.

 

This will be utilized in getting government interventions like the P5,000 Rice Farmers’ Financial Assistance (RFFA) and other financial benefits with the implementation of the Rice Tariffication Law, or RA 11203.

 

In the launching of said card, the program, which was held at the Dr. Efren U. De San Jose Gymnasium in Poblacion East, Flora, and graced by the undersecretary, served as a tutorial on how the card is being utilized.


In the demonstrations made, it was shown how the card facilitates transactions between merchants and suppliers of hybrid seeds, inorganic fertilizers, bio-fertilizers, and ameliorants.

 

With the digitalized strategy for the distribution of aid, the province of Apayao eyes improved efficiency, transparency, and accessibility for farmers and suppliers in the province, particularly those benefiting from the program.

 

Meantime, to show their support for another milestone in the history of agriculture in the province, Apayao Lone District Representative Eleanor Bulut-Begtang, Vice Governor Remy Albano, and Mayor Rodolfo Juan Sr. attended the launching ceremony.
