61-year-old man who sexually abused 12-year-old stepdaughter arrested in Isabela

Cagayan, Philippines – Cagayan Valley region’s top most wanted person who was accused of raping his 12-year-old stepdaughter was arrested by the police on August 16 in Barangay Naganakan, Sta Maria, Isabela.


The 61-year-old suspect who is a resident of Aparri, Cagayan was captured by the police after being charged with two counts of rape in relation to Republic Act 7610 or the “Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.”


Additionally, the suspect is facing a charge for statutory rape and Acts of Lasciviousness in relation to RA 7610.

According to Police Regional Office 2 – Regional Public Information Office, the suspect was reported to the police in Aparri for sexually abusing his minor stepdaughter sometime in 2019 and 2020.


The victim told the authorities that her stepfather raped her on those times when her mother was asleep or not around.


Due to the abuse, the minor decided to run away from home.


The suspect after getting caught was later brought to Aparri Police Station for procedures to be done before he shall be turned over to the court.


3 criminals arrested on the same day


Meanwhile, on the same date, police Region 2 arrested 3 other municipal level top wanted individuals in Cagayan. One for the crime of Attempted Murder and two forFrustrated Homicide.

Police Regional Director, Police Brigadier General Steve Ludan who commended the efforts of the uniformed men, expressed optimism that with the help of the community and other law enforcement agencies, “we can attain a peaceful community and a safer place to live in.”
