Tinglayan, Kalinga — Cordillera Fire Director Fire Chief Superintendent Leonida Gumanab Rosales was granted the full honor and protection of the Tinglayan Pochon after she was formally adopted as a native daughter of the municipality recently.

During her visit to Kalinga Province, Rosales stopped in Tinglayan on January 28, accompanied by her command group from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP). She was received by the Municipal Local Government Unit, led by Mayor Charles Abay and Vice Mayor Alexander Malasi.

During the welcome program prepared for the regional director, Rosales was formally adopted as a native daughter of Tinglayan through a resolution from the Sangguniang Bayan. The ceremony included the Honorable Body invoking the guidance of “Afuliyan,” the Supreme Being, and conferring upon her the native name “Guinanayan” through the sacred rite “Kammid.” This officially granted Rosales the full honor and protection of the Pochon, or Peace Pact, in Tinglayan.

In a statement, Mayor Abay said that the visit of the BFP Cordillera Regional Director served as an inspiration to local officials, BFP personnel, and iTinglayans to further strengthen disaster preparedness, resilience, and public welfare efforts.

“Nagasat ken agyaman tayo ta inmay datayo binisita ni BFP CAR Fire Director Rosales ditoy Tinglayan.
