Tinglayan LGU responds to 234 yTinglayan families affected by Covid-19 in Itogon

Tinglayan, Kalinga―Local Government Unit of Tinglayan headed by Mayor Sacrament Gumilab is preparing to deliver rice subsidy to over 234 yTinglayan families who are residing in Itogon, Benguet.

In a Facebook post, a group of individuals residing in Itogon and working as miners were asking for assistance as their area is under lockdown caused by the surge of COVID-19 positive cases.

Mayor Sacrament Gumilab said in an interview that he immediately contacted the officials of the municipality where they identified over 234 families residing in 9 Purok in Itogon, Benguet, in which his first move was the giving of 1 sack of rice to each family.

“Bagas paylang ti ited tayo ta isu ti kailangan da, manu gamin nga days nga nakalockdown ket haan da met nga makastrek iti minas ta adda garud ti nagpositive sunga kailangan da ti tulong. Adda met iti tulong ti barangays, municipality iti Itogon, kompanya ti minas, dadduma nga tumultulong ngem syempre iti kinaattidug iti daytoy nga aldaw kailangan da latta ti tulong,” he narrated.

He also assured that such help is extended to every resident even outside the Municipality of Tinglayan and stressed that in this time of crisis, it is much needed to exercise tribal unity toward each other.

In addition, he encourages those residents who wish to come home and who can work in the municipality temporarily.

“Ti maipanawagan kadagiti kakailyan nga agminminas idiay nga mabalin nga agawid tuy Kalinga nga adda panggedan na ditoy mabalin da nga umay tuy Tinglayan tapno ditoy da nga agnaed ta ni close ti minas. Nu mabalin da nga agawid, agawid da, sa dan tu agsubli manen nu mumayat ti panawen,” he uttered.

Meantime, the rice subsidy for the families from LGU Tinglayan is ready for delivery and mobilization as soon as the weather condition is good for travel.
