TWO drug peddlers escape arrest, leaving P7.3M Marijuana to undercover agents in Tabuk City

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Realizing they just transacted with anti-narcotic operatives, two drug personalities in Tabuk City resisted arrest and escaped after selling more than P7 million worth of suspected marijuana last Friday, October 3, 2025.


The attempt to capture the suspects happened when the combined units from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency - Cordillera and the Philippine National Police launched a buy-bust operation against the two in Agbannawag on Friday night.

PDEA-CAR reported that the suspects used a motorcycle to deliver the contraband, but they immediately ran away upon realizing they were transacting with undercover operatives, leaving behind 59 bricks and 5 vacuum-sealed plastic bags of suspected Marijuana along with their motorcycle. The seized contraband has an estimated worth of P7,380,000.


Follow up operations were activated to locate the two suspects.


Two days since the buy-bust operation, the Tabuk City police apprehended four male individuals for violation of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 in Barangay Lacnog on October 5.


The local cops reported they recovered 0.3 grams of suspected shabu with estimated value or P2,040. The four suspects along with the contraband were brought to police custody after inventory of the suspected drug item.
