Tabuk City, Kalinga—Two iKalingas are among the five Cordilleran youth selected for the Philippine-Israel Internship Program for the Youth (PIIPY) Batch 1.

The partnership between the Department of Agriculture’s ATI and Agrostudies/MASHAV of Israel is a program designed to immerse young Filipino graduates into Israel’s fast-paced and highly organized agricultural system.

The 11-month agricultural training seeks to provide participants with hands-on skills, familiarity with modern farming techniques, and creative strategies that they can implement locally to enhance agriculture.

Among the five Cordilleran representatives in the training are Adrian Paul Ocan Jalmanzar and Brezkster Alcodia Salamanca from Kalinga province.

Joining them are Rony Libuten Wan-aten from Benguet, Abegail Bowaken Pingos from Mt. Province, and Reciel Dulnuan Tayaban from Ifugao.

These young people underwent a selection process that considered their academic background, agricultural-related fields of study, personal commitment to farming, and readiness to undergo long-term training abroad.

ATI-CAR, in a Facebook post this August 26, said the interns were already briefed on the expectations of their internship and are currently preparing the necessary requirements before they will be deployed.
