Tamauini, Isabela - As a responsible motorist, it is important that you are aware of traffic rules.
One of the traffic rules the PNP has always been reminding the public about is to avoid driving when drunk. However, such a case was recorded on Thursday, March 21, 2024, in Tamauini, Isabela, once again, after this warning went unheeded.
The casualty was identified as Arnel Estabillo, 22, a resident of the area.
Police reports obtained by local media disclosed that Estabillo was riding a motorcycle when he was involved in a tragic accident around 11:00 pm that day.
While he was traversing along the bypass road in Barangay Arcon, Estabillo's vehicle crashed into an Isuzu Cargo Truck driven by Cornelio Jr. Laciste Binalay, 49, a resident of Ilagan, Isabela.
Tamauini police conducted an investigation, and it was revealed that Estabillo was under the influence of alcoholic drinks and was speeding on his motorcycle when the incident occurred.
As a result of the crash, Estabillo sustained severe injuries to various parts of his body, resulting in his unfortunate passing.
Meanwhile, Binalay, the truck driver, was not charged, as he and the victim's family agreed to settle the matter amicably.
