551 Ifugao beneficiaries of DOLE given P9.5M in short-term and long-term aid

Hungduan, Ifugao—More than five hundred individuals from different sectors in Ifugao province were provided over P9.5 million worth of assistance by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE-Ifugao) recently.  


On its Facebook page, the DOLE-IFugao reported that the aid targeted vulnerable groups, with programs designed to provide both short-term relief and long-term livelihood opportunities.


Among the agency’s beneficiaries were 10 former inmates/parolees in the province who received P288,500 worth of livelihood packages for farming and auto shop.

The business start-ups were provided under the agency’s Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP), in partnership with the Department of Justice (DOJ).


In the municipality of Hungduan, 500 residents were beneficiaries of temporary employment under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantage/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program and received P4,725,000 in wages after completing their 20 days of work. 


Said program was carried out through the Lawa and Binhi initiative of the local government unit headed by Mayor Casan Dumulag.  


Meanwhile, 41 individuals in Mayoyao were granted P4,494,700 worth of livelihood assistance for vegetable gardening, helping them earn money for their families while boosting the town’s agriculture sector.


In total, the DOLE- Ifugao disbursed P9,508,200 to its 551 beneficiaries in the province last month, providing them with opportunities for short-term jobs and business ventures that could become a reliable source of income if well managed.
