Tabuk City, Kalinga - With the province entering a fresh chapter in leadership, Governor James Edduba welcomed the new set of leaders and reminded them that true governance begins with unity, honesty, and commitment.

Addressing a crowd of government workers and public officials during the PLGU’s flag-raising ceremony on Monday, July 7, Edduba delivered a firm yet hopeful message, welcoming the new set of leaders and encouraging them that they should be founded on sincerity, teamwork, and people-centered service.

“The new leaders from the legislative family, headed by the vice governor and the members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, signal a fresh chapter for our provincial government. I’m also glad to welcome new faces, new plans, new perspectives…new ideas and promising opportunities,” the governor stated.

Edduba, to his fellow public servants, underscored the importance of working together regardless of position and political affiliations, noting that public service must never be about ‘personal gains.’

To our colleagues in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, let us work together with honesty, unity, and commitment,” he added.

The father of the province likewise reminded heads and employees of various national line agencies and provincial offices to carry out their duties with ‘discipline and sincerity,’. He added that the people’s trust in government can only grow if officials serve with heart and conscience.

The governor’s message also comes with a timely reminder as the province observes three major celebrations this July- the 38th Cordillera Anniversary, the National Disaster Resilience Month, and Nutrition Month.

These events, he said, must make a real impact on the lives of iKalingas and not just end with nothing.

“The challenge of change and development is always before us, but we can overcome it if we stay united and serve with integrity,“ he concluded.

As the Province of Kalinga moves forward, Edduba’s statement sets the tone not just for his administration but for every public servant that leadership is a responsibility owed to people and that they must return the favor.
