Abra, Philippines – The man who killed his live-in partner in a jealous rage in Abra surrendered to authorities.

The suspect, Richard June Dawaton Salgebar, and the victim identified as Wina Joy Tunggalan, 27, a resident of Sitio Manaois, Barangay Poblacion, Lagayan, Abra, have long been arguing due to jealousy, according to the relatives of Tunggalan.

On Saturday evening, August 26, the brother of the victim, Sherwin Tunggalan, and his live-in partner Richelle Borillo Langgi, who are residing at the same place, heard the couple having a heated argument in their room.

Later that night, Langgi heard a loud sound before seeing the suspect move out of the house and drive off using his motorcycle.

When Sherwin entered his sister’s room at around 5 p.m. of the following day to check on the children, he saw Wina lying in bed. At first, he thought she was just sick but when he touched her foot, it was cold and stiff. It was then when he saw blood on Wina’s head.

He called the police who responded immediately. They rushed the victim to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

She sustained a gunshot to her head that caused her death.

An empty shell of .45 caliber pistol was recovered at the scene.

On Monday, local police received a call from the mayor, informing the suspect’s intention to surrender. The police then went to fetch him. He will be facing murder charges.

The suspect and the victim have been living together for 7 years. They have two children.
