Tabuk City, Kalinga – Governor James S. Edduba of Kalinga has been given a national role after his recent appointment as Public Information Officer (PIO) for Northern Luzon in the League of Provinces of the Philippines (LPP).

Composed of all governors nationwide, the LPP serves as a collective body that formulates policy recommendations, advocates provincial concerns, and aligns local priorities with national development goals.

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. administered Edduba’s oath of office in a ceremony held at Malacañang Palace on September 3, 2025, where several other governors in the country were also inducted into key posts in the league’s leadership structure.

As the Northern Luzon PIO, Edduba will lead efforts in communication and information-sharing across the provinces in Northern Luzon.

Based on gathered information, his responsibilities also consist advocating for transparency and effective governance while enhancing the voices of provincial leaders within the league.

It was mentioned that Edduba’s selection for the role recognizes his accomplishments in Kalinga, which included his works in peace and order, healthcare services efforts, and inclusive, community-centered development.

Alongside Edduba, another governor from the Cordillera who was given a position in the LPP is Apayao Governor Elias C. Bulut Jr., who was sworn in as a member of the league’s National Executive Board (NEB).

As NEB member, Bulut Jr. will ensure that the concerns and priorities of provinces are heard in national discussions.
