Tabuk City, Kalinga – All towns in the Province of Kalinga will have their own LGU Serbisyo Caravan, which shall provide various services to every town’s people in line with the 125th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA) month-long celebration, according to Provincial HR Head Grace Kidang Flores.

In an interview during the coordinated meeting on August 20 held at the Mabalasik Hall of the 103rd Infantry Battalion, Flores said the caravan is a strategic initiative conducted in partnership with the LGU serving as hosts of the localized celebration in collaboration with the Provincial Government of Kalinga.

Kidang added that apart from the LGUs, others like the Council of Human Resource Management Practitioners, the 103rd Infantry Battalion, Philippine Army, partner national line agencies, non-government organizations, and other stakeholders will be participating in the Serbisyo Caravan.

“Since the Municipal Local Government Unit will be celebrating their localized PCSA, for this year’s celebration, they will be the ones hosting. The services that will be provided for them will come from Philhealth, TESDA, and PSA; among others,” said Flores.

The services that shall be provided include skills training demonstrations, scholarship orientations, and livelihood support programs by the TESDA, Membership registration, benefits processing, and consultations by the Philhealth, civil registry services (birth, marriage, and death certificates), PhilSys ID registration, and data validation by the PSA. Other services shall be from other national line agencies aimed at addressing the needs of the people who may not be able to travel to the center of the province to avail them.

Flores disclosed the municipal mayors welcomed the proposal, adding that this is the first time the program will be part of the 125th celebration.

“On behalf of the Governor, we are very thankful to the municipal mayors for openly accepting the idea and their support. Aside from the services that we will provide them, this will be an opportunity to bond with them through the friendship games,” Flores added.

The LGU Serbisyo Caravan will begin on September 1 with Tabuk City as the first host. The activity will continue throughout the month with other municipalities providing their schedules next.
