Santa Marcela, Apayao - Over seven hundred forty-nine (749) local and overseas job vacancies were offered by participating agencies and employers on Sunday, June 15, as part of Santa Marcela’s 58th Founding Anniversary and 21st Balangkoy Festival celebration.

The event encouraged job seekers to explore overseas and local work opportunities primarily in positions like sales clerks or assistants, production operators, call center representatives, service crew, loan officers, household workers, medical personnel, army workforce, and others.

Said activity was organized by the LGU’s PESO, in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE-Apayao), led by Provincial head Jane Adalan, Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), and was centered on assisting and providing employment possibilities among prospective employees or job aspirants.

Application requirements comprised a resume, an application letter, a transcript of records, a diploma, certificates of training attended, and a passport for overseas applicants. In a statement, DOLE said first-timers or ex-abroad with 2 years of experience are encouraged to apply for the job slots.

Part of the job fair was the provision of free services, which included pedicure, manicure, body massage, and other related wellness services.

Mayor Martinez, in her statement, thanked DOLE’s unwavering support towards providing constituents their needed aid for employment opportunities.

Said job fair served as one of the local government services to assist with pre-employment document processing and other auxiliary needs of applicants. Services also include career development support, labor regulations consultations, and programs for livelihood, skills training, and entrepreneurship.
