Plane forced to land in a corn field in Reina Mercedes, Isabela; Pilot and passengers safe

Isabela, Philippines – No one was harmed among the seven people on board the aircraft, which made an emergency landing in Reina Mercedes, Isabela, on Sunday morning, August 31.


Investigations revealed that the plane was described to be a SKY PASADA Airplane with Tail No. RP C1018 departed from the Cauayan City Airport and was en route to Maconacon, Isabela, when it executed an emergency landing in a corn field in District 1 around 11:00 a.m.

The pilot, Capt. Alito Getalaga, 56, revealed to the police that he opted for an emergency landing after he noticed a mechanical failure in the aircraft. The decision he made was to ensure the safety of his six passengers.


These six were identified as Dante Cabaldo, 48; Floremia Cabaldo, 81; Rogelio Lagula, 54; Perfecta Jacinto; Olegario Cortes; and Norberto Centeno. All of them are residents of Divilacan, Isabela.


Fortunately, all seven occupants of the plane were safe and uninjured during the sudden landing of the aircraft.


The incident, meantime, is still being investigated by the authorities.
