Tabuk City, Kalinga - Kalinga Governor James Edduba recently reminded the government workers in the province that public service is a duty that demands integrity, accountability, and full dedication.

Speaking through Provincial Administrator Teddy Gulay during the 125th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA), Edduba said the event’s theme, “Bawat Kawani, Lingkod Bayani: Puso, Dangal, at Galing para sa Bayan,” is a call for every civil servant to embody heroism in the way they perform their duties.

Edduba admitted that some government workers are failing their oath by neglecting responsibilities or abusing their positions.

For this reason, he urged the hundreds of government employees in the province who attended said event to act with conscience and never allow the government and the people to be on the losing end.

The Governor also described that a true Lingkod Bayani the one who serves with honor, compassion, and dedication.

“ This celebration reminds us that we are here not for ourselves, but to serve with integrity, compassion, and full dedication. Public service is not a privilege but a sacred duty to work sincerely for the common good,” said Edduba.

Apart from his reminder to the government employees in the province, the governor also expressed support for the Kalinga Convergence for Community Resilience, Empowerment, Sustainability, and Transformation (KCREST) of the 103rd Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army

KCREST, said 103rd Infantry Mabalasik Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Jimrick Obias in a recent talk, aims to unite the government, civil society, the private sector, academe, and religious groups to pursue peace and development through shared efforts.

The PCSA Kickoff coincided with the launching of the program, wherein Edduba emphasized that peace and development are interconnected, and enduring progress can only be attained through cooperation and unity.

“Without peace, there is no progress. Without unity, there is no lasting transformation,” he added.
