Quiz Bee Showdown: Who will be Kalinga’s Tax-Savvy Champions?

Tabuk City, Kalinga – The Office of the Provincial Treasurer is set to host a Quiz Bee Competition to foster awareness and appreciation of taxation in local governance at the Kalinga Sports Center (Capitol Gym) on March 5, 2026.

In line with the province’s commitment to transparency, this initiative will not only engage students in a competitive and educational setting but also educate them on the purpose, types, and benefits of local taxes. It will also foster unity among different schools and promote mutual respect among the youths of Kalinga.

Participants will consist of one team from each municipality in the province, with each team composed of three senior high school students.

The seven Municipal Treasury Offices in Kalinga, along with the City Treasury Office of Tabuk, will identify three participating schools in their respective areas.

The quiz bee will test students’ knowledge of local taxation, fiscal policies, and the roles of local government units in Kalinga. The competition will have four rounds: Easy, Average, Difficult, and a tie-breaking Clincher, with teams earning points based on the difficulty of the questions. All teams will advance through the first three rounds, and their cumulative scores will determine the winners.

The contest will be evaluated by a panel of judges composed of the Provincial Treasurer, the Assistant Provincial Treasurer, and the three division heads of the Office of the Provincial Treasurer, ensuring a credible and fair assessment of participants’ performance.
