Robbers taking P1M from express riders in Santiago City, identified on CCTV, caught by police

Santiago City, Isabela – A former J&T employee and two others are believed to be the ones who robbed two J&T riders who were on their way to deposit the company’s P1 million collection at a bank in Santiago City last January 5, 2022.


According to the report of PNP Region 2, the suspects were eventually arrested after an informant identified the suspects from the CCTV footages that were uploaded on social media and told them of their whereabouts.

Acting on the tip, the police immediately conducted a hot pursuit operation, apprehending the suspects in Santiago City and in Diffun, Quirino on January 11, 2022.

The suspects were identified by the police as Pee Jay Dela Cruz Venturina, 34, former J&T employee; Mack Jay Dela Cruz Venturina, 28, construction worker; and Randy Ignacio Andres, 46, construction worker.


Confiscated from the suspects include a cash amounting to P120,000 and items which are said to have been purchased out of the money they robbed from the 2 express riders.


Additionally, a cal 9mm pistol with inserted magazine loaded with 5 rds ammo and a grenade was recovered from Andres, while a replica of cal 45 pistol and a piece of grenade was confiscated from Pee Jay.

Cases for Robbery with intimidation, violation of Republic Act 9516 and violation of the Omnibus Election Code in relation to COMELEC Resolution No. 10728 will be filed against the suspects.


In a statement, PRO2 Director, Police Brigadier General Steve Ludan conveyed that the arrest of the three suspected robbers showed that no one can escape the arms of the law.
