21 drug pushers in Cordillera arrested from August 11-17

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Twenty-one identified drug pushers in the Cordillera region have been caught by the police in a week-long operation, affirming the police’s continued and strengthened fight against illegal drugs in the region.


From August 11 – 17, anti-narcotic police across Cordillera launched 34 operations – 17 marijuana eradication, 12 buy-bust, 3 search warrants implementation, one arrest warrant served, and a police response.


These 34 operations resulted in the confiscation of P15,084,176.84 worth of illegal drugs.


According to the Police Regional Office Cordillera, the 34 operations also led to the arrest of 21 drug personalities. 10 of them are high value individuals (HVI), and 11 are street level individuals (SLI).


Kalinga Police Provincial Office was cited to have the most contribution with the arrest of 4 HVIs and 1 SLI and the discovery and confiscation of P8,728,540 worth of illegal drugs. This was followed by the Benguet PPO with 7 SLIs arrest and P3,254,240 seized contraband.


Baguio City, meantime, arrested 3 HVIs and 2 SLIs, confiscating P3,020,400 worth of suspected shabu; Abra, 3 HVIs and P57,596 worth of shabu; Ifugao, 1 SLI and P17,272 worth of shabu; and the Mountain Province PPO which seized P6,128 worth of suspected shabu.


PROCAR, which was recently hailed the ‘Best Regional Police Office’, attributed the success of the said police operations in the region to the continued support of the communities and the local government units in the fight against illegal drugs and in the maintenance of peace and order in the region.
