Balbalan LGU, national agencies join hands to assist in weeklong Brigada

Balbalan, Kalinga – The ‘It takes a village to raise a child’ spirit is alive in Balbalan as the Municipal Local Government Unit, along with the national line agencies in the area, decided to assist schools in town in the weeklong Brigada Eskwela.

 

Before the opening of classes in the public school on June 16, the Department of Education scheduled the nationwide Brigada Eskwela from June 9 – 13, whose aim is to clean, repair, and organize classrooms to make sure students in the basic education return to a safe, conducive, and welcoming learning environment.

 

Keeping the welfare and development of the children in Balbalan among his priorities, Mayor Almar Malannag mobilized the Balbalan LGU through the MDRRMO office and LGU job orders along with the national line agencies like the PNP, BFP, and the Philippine Army to aid in performing necessary tasks for the preparation of learning facilities.  

 

The teams were strategically divided and deployed to support the Balbalan Central School, Balbalan National High School, Balantoy Elementary School, and Balbalan Agro-Industrial High School on June 9 - 13.

 

Mayor Malannag, who led the initiative and was on the ground with the Brigada teams, emphasized the importance of helping schools as supporting them means helping nurture the Balbalan children who are the future of the town.

 

Malannag added that the Balbalan LGU is there to always support the schools and the children, stressing that giving importance to the students will allow them to soar higher as they hone their skills and knowledge inside the classroom.
