CAN’T BUY LOVE: Miner in Benguet lost cash to woman who invited him to a hotel

Baguio City, Philippines – It was supposed to be just a night out in Baguio City for a 30-year-old miner when he fell victim to a woman who offered him sexual favors but took away his money before they got to a hotel.

The Baguio City Police Station 7, as reported by local media on September 10, found out that the man from Itogon, Benguet went for a drink at a drinking house in Magsaysay Avenue when he was approached by the 38-year-old suspect, inviting him to go to a hotel.

The man did not want to go with the woman at first but the latter managed to change his mind. As the woman hailed a cab, the man was once again hesitant, but the woman pulled him inside the vehicle.

While they were on the way to the hotel, the woman was described to be “sweet” and that she offered to pay the taxi when they arrived at Jacinto Street because the man had no smaller bill. It was at that time, however, that the 30-year-old noticed that his P12,000 cash was missing.

The victim immediately confronted the woman, but the latter ran away with the cash.

The 30-year-old, however, did not give up and looked for the woman; he first returned to the drinking house then went back to Jacinto Street where he saw the woman. The 30-year-old sought help from the police on patrol which resulted in the arrest of the suspect.

The woman was taken into police custody for documentation and filing of appropriate charge.
