Tabuk City, Kalinga – Governor Ferdinand Tubban encouraged newly promoted teachers of Department of Education-Tabuk City not to give up even when they think they are the only ones left doing the right thing.

Tubban, during the online oath taking ceremony of the said teachers this October 1, 2021, highlighted the indispensable roles of educators in the community.

The bulk of the message centered on reminding and encouraging the teachers on what they ought to remember and do as the shaper of the future.

“While others gave up to disappointments and frustrations due to bad examples, don’t. You don’t give up because you are a teacher and you belong to the rare breed of people, willing to sacrifice self-interest for the greater good,” Tubban said.

The governor believes that the profession in the field of education is indispensable, if not a top priority in a person’s life. Without getting educated, he said, a society is crippled and its people disadvantaged.

Tubban acknowledged the significant role of education in progress and development since the influence of teachers and workers in the academe extends beyond classroom.

The governor reminded educators that with such great influence are also great responsibility “that is why they say teachers should always keep a positive character.”

“You, my dear teachers and workers in the education sector can shape or re-shape our future. You have in your hands the power to unmake or make a child. You have the words that can build or destroy,” Tubban stressed.

He reiterated that as the teachers position in pay increase, so as their accountability and expectations from learners and clients.

The governor called for teachers to be firm and let their light shine brighter to lead the younger generation for a better path.

He underscored that while the mistake of a teacher may be a mistake of a student, the love, dedication, commitment, and kindness could become the student’s way of leadership.

One of the students, he said, might become the mayor, the governor, the congressman or a successful person and he/she will embody what was taught to him.

“Congratulations to all of you, may your promotion be an inspiration and encouragement for you to do your job well and contribute for a better today and a brighter tomorrow of our learners and the citizen,” Tubban concluded.
