Tabuk City, Kalinga - Provincial Governor Ferdinand B. Tubban honored then Philippine President Ferdinand E. Marcos on his 104th birthday this September 11, 2021, for his accomplishments that contributed to the development of the province.

“Kalinga was privileged that we have been able to benefit from the undertakings during his presidency,” Tubban stated in a video released by the provincial government through its information office.

He said that “the future generation is reaping the fruits of his legacy.”

Marcos served as the 10th president of the country from December 30, 1965 to February 25, 1986.

Accomplishments of Marcos in Kalinga

The governor cited some of Marcos’ significant contributions in the province which include the establishment of the former Kalinga Community College, now Kalinga State University (KSU) which “has been immensely valuable in providing education opportunity for yKalingas.”

Aside from this, he also mentioned the establishment of the Kalinga-Apayao Provincial Hospital, Pinukpuk Emergency Hospital and the historical Chico Diversion Dam that turned Kalinga into one of the most agricultural productive provinces in the north.

“We, the yKalingas will always be grateful to the brilliant man, Anak ti Amianan Ferdinand E. Marcos,” Tubban underscored.

Marcos, according to the governor, was the man who defined progress as emanating from the very core of our being as expressed in his famous line, “Sa ikauunlad ng bayan, disiplina ang kailangan.”

“It is an honor to great you on your birthday. Manipud iti probinsiya ti Kalinga, iyebkas mi ti naimpusoan a panagkablaaw mi ti 104th mo Presidente Ferdinand Edralyn Marcos. Mabuhay Pilipinas!” Tubban concluded.
