La Trinidad, Benguet - Igorota Muay Thai star Islay Erika Bomogao claimed her third straight victory in ONE Championship after an impressive performance against Nerea Rubio of Spain during their clash at ONE Friday Fights 111.

The fight took place on June 7, 2025 at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. Originally scheduled in March, the bout was postponed due to the earthquake that shook the capital.

Fighting in a 103-pound catchweight bout, Islay quickly took control of the match. In less than two minutes of the first round, she landed a powerful punch to Rubio’s abdomen that made the Spaniard kneel onto the canvas, unable to fight back.

The referee was prompted to stop the match at 1 minute and 55 seconds of the first round, declaring Islay as the winner via technical knockout (TKO).

Following her victory, the 24-year-old Cordilleran expressed gratitude to everyone supporting her journey. She said the win felt even more meaningful because it was shared with those who have been part of her growth.

“Victory is sweet, but even sweeter when shared. My sincere thanks to everyone who pushed me to victory: my teams, my family and friends, my wonderful fans, and my sponsors…WE DID IT,” she wrote on her Facebook page.

It can be recalled that Islay made a triumphant ONE Championship debut in November 2024, defeating Fuu of Japan. She continued her momentum with another win in January 2025, beating China’s Ran Longshu via a unanimous decision.

Her win on June 7 marked her third consecutive victory in One Championship, proving her ability to compete against world-class opponents.
