Tabuk City, Kalinga – Sixteen local designers and weavers from Kalinga are set to showcase their exquisite and stunning crafts in the upcoming Laga Fashion Show on February 14 at the Kalinga Sports Center.

The event is one of the highlights of the 7th Kalinga Bodong Festival and the 31st Kalinga Founding Anniversary this February. The fashion show serves as a platform to strengthen the Kalinga weaving industry and highlight the outstanding skills of iKalinga designers and weavers.

This year’s edition will feature 16 shops, including: Joon Ascaño Atelier, Rovies, Dagwanay Handloom Woven Products, Balik Tribo Art and Crafts Manufacturing, Rycy’s Indi Fashion, Tribu-Bullz Fashion Shop, Cassidy Designs Handmade Arts and Crafts, Caroline’s Ethnic and Fashion, Nessaj’s Handicrafts and Pasalubong Products, Kurt’s Ethnic Handicrafts, CJ Designers Fashion Boutique, GlamGarden Collections, JG Salon, Cultura de Kalinga Fashion Boutique, Massalingga Musical Instruments & Handicrafts, and Kinwa Etnika Handicrafts.

Attires to be featured in the event must contain at least 50% Laga fabric, and biopirated, counterfeited, or digitally printed textiles are not allowed. Designs may be traditional, modern, or fusion. If the “ginamat” and “Pilagpageyn” Baag patterns are used, the ginamat is exclusively for female models, while the Pilagpageyn Baag is for male models.

According to Kalinga Tourism Supervising Operations Officer Lorraine Ngao-i, the 2026 Laga Fashion Show will be even more momentous, as it will feature not only local models but also public officials from across the province. She added that Governor James Edduba encouraged local officials—from the House of Representatives members of Kalinga down to city and municipal mayors—to lead the advocacy in supporting the Laga industry.

The show will take place from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on February 14.
