Lubuagan, Kalinga―Mayor Charisma Anne Dickpus commends the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) for the provision of Ceramic Water Filters (CWF) to ensure the delivery of safe water for the people in this town.

DOST gave 10 units CWF to Lubuagan for the people to access potable and clean water.

The candle-type water filter has an anti-microbial agent that eliminates disease-causing waterborne micro-organisms. It is easy to use and does not need electricity to operate the filter.

“Karkaru tatta a pinagtutudo ket adda dagita a water-borne diseases, dagita a water source tayo ket magapo ti spring, risk met iti health daytoy kadagiti tattao dagita contaminated a danum, so dakkel a tulong nu maited dayta ken nangina met nu gumatang da,” she expressed.

Kalinga is among the provinces that received seventy units of ceramic water filters from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).

Provincial Governor Engr. Ferdinand B. Tubban distributed said water filters to the pre-identified beneficiaries to provide them access to potable drinking water.

Identified beneficiaries are the Kalinga District Hospital, three municipal isolation facilities, and Barangay Health Stations located at Barangays Mabungtot, Tanglag, Lower Uma and Western Uma. The 10 units of ceramic water filter will be distributed on Monday, June 07.

On the other hand, the Municipality of Rizal represented by Mr. Warren Gamela has also received ten units of Ceramic Water Filters.

Meantime, Dickpus posed a challenge for the residents to also innovate such simple, effective and economical water filter that can be used for the benefit of the communities in Lubuagan.
